Re-Finding the Core Joy

I want to thank Anthony, one of the readers, for his comments about joy at the bottom of the last blog entry. If you haven’t seen what he wrote, check it out. Anthony may, as he says, get up on his soap box occasionally, but I have to admit I like that guy’s soap.

Keeping hopeful and happy can be a challenge when we’re seeing so many bad things happening around us. But it’s important to find that inner place of core joy and live our days from there.

We can find it, because that place is real, it is our nature. When we lose the bliss, or if we haven’t found it yet, we need to go within ourselves and remember.

Sometimes I get shadowed by the world and lose that core happiness. Some outer incident throws me off, like a drive over a bad bump that puts your car out of kilter. Then I drive around with my wheels misaligned for a while until I remember to go inward for a tune-up.

The Infinite created diversity for happiness. For fun, for joy. That’s why our souls were birthed from the One in the first place. Life was supposed to be a dance, a garden, a tapestry, not the hierarchical prison it’s become. To turn creation into a dance, we have to start dancing. And to feel like dancing, we have to come back to the core joy and security in our God self.

When I lose that place, I find it again by remembering how hard the controllers work at their deceptions just to get us to give our permission, and that reminds me of the importance and power of my permission, my will. I remember that nothing can happen in my future that I don’t allow, that no one can take from me something I don’t give. That gives me security, the security of my divine and powerful self.

I also find that place again by closing my eyes and bringing my attention to the quietness inside, where I always find a pool of peace and blissful refreshment. The outer world is only a phenomenon, dominated at the moment by really goofed up entities who have forgotten the path to their own pool, their own interior power. They think they have to control everybody else to be secure and happy, and a great majority of the world is still deceived by their lies about how the world has to be (a way that supports their tenuous pyramid).

But what we are going through is what the universe has to go through, apparently, for all God’s children to learn to play nicely on the playground of life together. We’re in the “bullies have the ball” stage right now, but though it’s gone on for eons, that’s a flash of a picture frame in the eternal movie of time. We’re headed somewhere so wonderful. So beyond the limitations we’ve been conditioned to think must constitute reality.

A very sick person sometimes does not recover without the fever getting worse. It grows to a breaking point, and then the illness dissolves. When we see things “getting worse” around us, it helps to remember that analogy.

The world will not be sick forever. A new way of thinking is being born, and a whole new way of living is on the horizon. Something good is coming. We can choose to be happy in that knowledge.

Sometimes I think the world is getting worse. People are more violent and less caring, That’s if I have been reading a newspaper but it isn’t what i see in my own environment. I think things seem bad just now because they are reported, crimes from the past like the murder and abuse in the cellars of a childrens’ home in Jersey are coming into the open now because we have worldwide communication. People are becoming more aware now that they don’t have to put up with the bullies. Now with DNA testing old murders are being revisited and people brought to trial after years of thinking they had “Got away”
(Well OK I know that some people still do have to put up with horrendous treatment and situations and may have to for some time to come) but there are many people who are aware of the injustices of the world who want to help. We can find out things from the internet and people who have traveled to troubled countries whereas before we would just have to accept the official story.
I do believe people are more caring and less bigoted now. I was watching a TV program about the treatment people who had children when they weren’t married received even in the 1960’s. This is because the church doesn’t have such a hold over people now. People think more for themselves
In past times a blog like this one, reaching many people would not have been possible and I think Bronte that you are helping this new way of thinking to come along..

    Hi Barbara,
You are right when you say things seem to be bad/worse in the world today when you read or listen to the ‘news’ reports. This is the very reaction and atmosphere the evil powers that be want to create. They are frightened that we are seeing the truth..therefore they try to counteract this awakening with negative ‘news headlines’, for instance, the murders of children in the Channel Islands orphanage. This crime was known about years ago, but covered up, (see Matthew Delooze’s website), Stabbings, car thieves, programmes showing drunken boys and girls fighting etc, etc. These things have been happening for years, (Teddy Boys for example) and are now been ‘headlined’ because it now suits their agenda of creating negativity. That agenda of creating problems or magnifying them, to force a reaction in order for ‘them’ to provide ‘their’ solution, which means more restrictions on the little freedom we have left, and more power and control for them.
Vigilance and awareness are the key words.
We have to learn to trust ourselves, the love we feel for our families, friends, neighbours and the beauty that surrounds us,..not the picture the evil powerbrokers are trying to get us to accept. No,.. we and our ancestors have lived with their deceit for too long to be fooled that only hatred exist. No….and No again. We have grown and are growing, in the knowledge that love, with wisdom, will always prevail. We need knowledge with wisdom, not indoctrination.
If you don’t need a haircut..don’t go to the barber shop. That is, don’t listen to ‘their news’.
Listen and view everything with discernment, this doesn’t mean becoming paranoid, but being aware with love and wisdom will inevitably stop the liars.
    Sorry for prattling on!
    Love, Tom.

Thank you Bronte for your uplifting re-minders. It’s so true of how easy it is to lapse into that troubled state of distress when we’re so caught up in the contentious nature of this world. And yet it’s really just as easy to go inward to find that simple source of joy. And to think that in that simplicity is that most awesome power of love. I would say that the life force and the love force are interchangeable terms. That the words life and love are essentially one and the same. I think that the constant challenge confronting us is to maintain our awareness for the need to empower our focused intent of love. When we don’t we aren’t really living(loving) Instead we are perpetuating the death-culture. The one we’ve been sleepwalking through that has maintained itself in our history in this ‘veil of fears’. The more we truly empower ourselves in this way, the more we free ourselves up from the static condition of densified energy that contains us. Just think of the irony, for example, of British citizens being referred to as ‘subjects’ for all these hundreds of years by those we call the ‘Royals’. Little did we know until now that what has made us ‘subjects’ is that static condition itself! Everything else that we’ve allowed to be assaulted by is only symptomatic. I would characterize a new paradigm ‘shift’ as it concerns the imposers resulting in: ‘You can’t catch what you can’t see’, and ‘You can’t control what you can’t contain’. When we’re truly empowered we are free-flowing spirits that intend our reality as we choose, enacted by love. Entities of darkness are blinded by the light they’ve rejected. Can’t see it, not gonna catch it. Not catchin’ it means it’s impossible to contain it, and not containin’ it means they’re not controllin’ it. We’re not the sittin’ ducks we’ve let ourselves become. Not even close.

Wow! How good does it feel to have sparked off this thread! Thank you to Bronte for understanding so well the spirit in which I wrote my entry about joy (and thanks also to Mick for his kind comments).

I felt so good yesterday (and still do). I felt rather like Alastair Sim in the old Scrooge movie; not quite so giddy! Link at the end of this comment.

I also thought about a quote from Carlos Castaneda about how the most difficult thing for a warrior is to stay happy. I couldn’t find the exact quote, but I did find so many others.

““Feeling important makes one heavy, clumsy and vain. To be a warrior one needs to be light and fluid.””

“The trick is in what one emphasizes. We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves happy. The amount of work is the same.”

““All paths are the same: they lead nowhere. However, a path without a heart is never enjoyable. On the other hand, a path with heart is easy—it does not make a warrior work at liking it; it makes for a joyful journey; as long as a man follows it, he is one with it.””

““The spirit of a warrior is not geared to indulging and complaining, nor is it geared to winning or losing. The spirit of a warrior is geared only to struggle, and every struggle is a warrior’s last battle on earth. Thus the outcome matters very little to him. In his last battle on earth a warrior lets his spirit flow free and clear. And as he wages his battle, knowing that his intent is impeccable, a warrior laughs and laughs.””

Here’s another one of the good news stories that indicate a global trend towards people in local communities working together. I especially liked the last sentence: “Every Saturday the community comes together to sell their produce at the village hall – and the growers say market day has become a social occasion as well as a chance to fill the larder”.

I don’t think much of this statement Anthony quoted from Castaneda:

“The spirit of a warrior is not geared to … winning or losing. The spirit of a warrior is geared only to struggle, and every struggle is a warrior’s last battle on earth. Thus the outcome matters very little to him.”

To Castaneda’s tradition, everything was about garnering power, at everyone else’s expense. All “warriors” (seekers) were in conflict with each other to get something from each other and grow in magical ability. “Struggle” was the very heart of life for them because there was no love in that tradition. It was all about me, me, me.

“The outcome” should matter very much to us. We aren’t engaging the difficulties of this world to garner and strip power from others, but to restore what is innately ours, and to restore the creation to the original divine vision.

The cavalier attitude of “the outcome doesn’t matter” is one I hear promoted a lot in Eastern religion as well. It is a nihilist way of thinking, where the material creation isn’t supposed to be important to us if we are truly “spiritual.” Such philosophy plays right into the hand of those who want to continue controlling the physical dimension.

I have had a terrible day getting round trying to rectify the incompetencies of the bank and the council
What I think our British government is trying to do just now is to get us afraid of terrorism and a terrorist attack. They will then expect us to allow the introduction of ID cards with a database about us all for our own safety. Lets not let that happen.

Thanks Bronte. I’ve read a couple of Castaneda’s books in recetn months and there are some thngs in there that I find very interesting, some things that I find very confusing and some things that I find very strange.

I’d fallen into the “euphoric trap” where everything felt so good that I got a little careless. Somehow I had read and translated this comment for me and it came out positive, and thereby missed some of the actual content of the message. I hardly find anything a “struggle” anymore. I must have translated that for me into “challenge”. I understood / interpreted “The outcome doesn’t matter” into the fact that I don’t do things expecting a particular result. I do have dreams and visions of how I would like things to be, but I don’t have fixed expectations.

This falls into the category of paradoxes, such as “By giving I receive” or “By trying less I gain more” and many others. In recent times I’ve become more and more aware of the many paradoxes in my life.

In many ways I am a bumbler. I bumble through life on an apparently crazy pathway, in an apparently chaotic fashion and yet I’ve made so much progress in my life. My use of the Castaneda quotes is a good example. I actually considered writing down my reservations about Castaneda, but I didn’t, and now I’m glad I didn’t because you did! Whenever I try hard to be disciplined and organized I usually end up disappointed. I’ve come to the conclusion that I want to remain true to my nature, knowing that my nature can and will change over time.

I’m not the boy I was, or the young man, or the man from last year or last week. I’m evolving, growing in my own individual, chaotic, bumbling way.

Barbara: You’re very right that the Government want people to live in constant fear. They want the people to surrender their freedoms and their individuality to the state. And as Bronte’s blog makes quite clear, it goes way beyond our government. They are liars and hypocrites. Once we have seen through their lies we can reject them.

This is another reason why I find the many new local initiatives very positive. If, for example, one day the Internet is taken from us, then we won’t miss it because we will already be aware of the nature of our reality and living and working evey day to shape it in the way we want it. The Internet has been a wonderful tool, but we can live happily without it.

It’s a fine line between caring about what happens and not being hung up or constantly worrying about the outcome, isn’t it? Perhaps what seems like a laissez faire attitude on the outside can really be compassion with total faith on the inside.
By the way Anthony, are you the guy who lives in Germany?
There’s an article on PrisonPlanet regarding how the free internet in Canada is being threatened at the moment. Apparently Canada is a test case and an internet based on the fees charged by cable/satellite companies 9with obvious site restrictions) is due to be in place by 2010. If that works, then the rest of the world gets the new version by 2012. That magic date again!
As for British politics, the whole debate around the David Davis campaign is a complete eye opener (see Icke’s site for links to various independent blogs).
It is so easy to worry and fear about everything that is being threatened or actually happening, never mind the shadow parasites lurking in the 4th. Sometimes ‘a devil may care’ look is the only way to cope, but that doesn’t mean that’s our core attitude. Often it’s just a survival mechanism.

    hi anthony,….. in your last sentence you come back to castaneda’s qoute, which bronte also mentioned ;

“““The spirit of a warrior is not geared to indulging and complaining, nor is it geared to winning or losing.

…….. it just depends what you do with the outcome, it is continuously in a process in following the heart in a path ,whatever comes along .
In every teaching with words there is distortion ,especially in translations and groups of people trying to construct a logical path in it to follow for all members.
Words are utterances for a whole series of energies being expressed which all can be distorted by beliefs, mindchatter, social upbringing etc.,etc.
There is a lot in castaneda’s work that still was managed being translated in a positive and constructing manner, but never blindly follow words and ideas……… see if there is the path of heart for you in it, keep your head clear and take what you can use, discard the rest, everyone walks a different path.

Hi bronte, glad you can still find the joy in things and as you know a lot in the so called social world is all made up and virtual, excisting all in the minds of people due to rehearsing all their lives ,up to the point when it is a firm belief which can’t be questioned anymore.

    Hello Mick,

Yes, I’m the Anthony in Germany. I’ll be on vacation for a few weeks; with no Internet access ;-)

The Canadian Internet story is what prompted me to mention the possible end of the Internet.

I agree absolutely with the first line of your comment above. How many people worry themselves sick (often literally) about event over which they have no influence? I care very much, for example, about many, many issues, but I have to repect my limitations and focus on what I can achieve given the time and resources available to me.

We don’t need to have a “devil may care” attitude to cope with the evils of this world. We don’t need to look away, but we also don’t need to dwell on the negative, which brings us nciely back to Bronte’s original comments about joy.

Turning creation into a dance. Dancing into creation. Tuning in to creation. Living in harmony. I have no knowledge of how music works, but I was just reading about the theory that everything is based on vibration. How there is so much order in all of creation. It seems that the bad guys literally seem to bring (or seek to bring) discord where there is harmony. When we are happy, we are usually in harmony with nature; in harmony with creation.

Just to return to the Castaneda thing. The crux of the matter between a sorcerer and a warrior is impeccability. I took it that ‘the way of the warrior’ was to reclaim our connection/birthright/inherent power and in order to achieve this we had to attain the state of impeccability. If we failed to do this we could not connect with the universal power source and therefore become like sorcerers in that we could only empower ourselves through manipulation, control and psychic vampirism of others. I don’t think shamanism is inherently selfish, as the shaman served his community, was the mediator between the ‘spirit worlds’ and his physical world, brought healing, reconnected fractured souls, etc. But every system we have of transcending our physical selves has, in some form or another, been corrupted. Or so it seems to me.

  13. Anthony said,

    July 23, 2008 at 10:54 pm

Thanks astralkid. What you mention about words, language and translations is something that I was thinking about earlier. Language seems to be a very important (powerful?) thing. I agree with you about the path of the heart. Our hearts seem to be great at interpreting truth out of distortion. Given that virtually everything (or everything) that has been handed down to us has been distorted in some way, we clearly need some way of recognizing the deeper truth.

I have this feeling, for example, when I read certain passages of the New Testament. I know that the Bible has been messed around with. know that there are parallels to other religious traditions in Egypt, Babylon etc. but my heart tells me that some of the words in there are absolute pearls and I feel a love for this person of Jesus Christ that goes very deep, beyond the superficial myths wrapped around the story. I don’t know the truth about Jesus, but my heart guides me.

Mick: Thanks for a great explanation. I looked up the word Impeccability and I got this definition:

Noun 1. impeccability – the quality of being without an error or fault
    faultlessness
correctness – the quality of conformity to social expectations
    2. impeccability – the quality of being exempt from sin or incapable of sinning
righteousness – adhering to moral principles

I suppose adhering to moral principles is something that I can aspire to and live up to, but I ain’t never gonna be without error or without sin. And I don’t expect to be. I read up a bit just now (briefly) on Castaneda Wikipedia and there seem to be some skeletons in the cupboard: literally. But that doesn’t mean that I can’t appreciate his writing or gain some understanding of other dimensions.

It comes down again to questioning everything; and filtering out what feels right. The path with heart. I like that :-)

  14. Mick said,

    July 24, 2008 at 1:02 am

Yeah, I agree. Like Astralkid says, take what feels right for you at the time. Though what feels right at one stage may very well feel wrong at another. There’s alot of suspicion about the validity of Castaneda’s series but on the bottom line that’s not the point. It’s what the person reading it gets out of it that is the important bit, and that depends on where they are mentally, emotionally, spiritually. It’s the Delphic oracle thing isn’t it? – Man, Know Thyself – heck, that’s easier said than done!
Well, impeccability = righteousness, then! In the biblical sense too, I guess. Well, that’s a tall order. I kind of saw impeccability as complete honesty (another toughy) about yourself and also being as balanced as possible. Something to strive for, eh? And on a continual basis I guess, for who’s without fault? I sure ain’t. Have a good holiday, Anthony.

While I do like the ‘ laughing and laughing’ aspect of Don Juan’s acting with ‘impeccable intent’, ( cliches exist for a reason-they stand the test of time- ‘laughter is the best medicine’ is one of the best) I too have always had a problem with the general feel of that tradition. That intent seems to be too grounded in a kind of sorcerer’s competition. While it is certainly advantageous to recognize and render those interdimensional interlopers irrelevant( try saying that ten times fast) and to move ‘beyond’ them, the question that has to be asked is where are you moving beyond to? In those realms(and by ‘extension’ this one) there are games being played that amount to a whole lot of one-upmanship goin’ on. The ‘ball’ that’s used in these games is energy. It’s like in American football. The team with the ball is driving for a score. The quarterback throws a pass in the endzone. If HIS guy catches it it’s a touchdown. Six points. But if instead it gets intercepted by a guy on the other team then there’s no points scored and possession of the ball is turned over. In the interdimensional realms there is a constant energy tug of war goin’ on( and most certainly in this one- being imposed upon is THE way of life around here) Don Juan says he’s not concerned about winning or losing but this is what these actions result in. One person’s ‘win’ is at the expense of another’s loss. At the end of Castaneda’s ‘The Art of Dreaming’ is the scene of the ‘lady in the church’. A personage who has managed to physically manifest, de-manifest, re-manifest, etc. themselves and to even change genders from man to woman amidst all this wo-manifesting. But in order for him/her to keep it all going he/she needed an energy fix from ol’ Carlos. Supposedly beneficial to both of them. Maybe. Maybe not. The point is, who needs that when there’s plenty of energy to go around for everybody. Besides, is there love with all these crazy metaphysical gyrations where you’ve got all this energy-swapping goin’ on? It’s just like with sex. Think about it. Are we matching the divine intent by giving, or are we merely indulging in various forms of self-aggrandizement? Don Juan is big on referring to the ‘attention’. Bottom line:You shouldn’t have to ask the question,”Was it good for you, too, honey”?

Isn’t life just really being aware of what is going on? Doing what you can to increase your awareness? In increasing yours you increase others? Part of the problem of reading everything that is going on this world (and there is alot that is going on which is not reported in mainstream) is that sometimes it becomes overwheming and because of how the mind operates you end up spiral to the extreme. I have found over the years that I need to balance my information intake in order to keep myself in a state of love. I also have to take into account what is happening in my personal life as to what info I allow. If you are reading about a doom and gloom world and you are in a doom and gloom relationship/situation chances are you are going to lower your vibration. In lowering your vibration you then start attracting ‘negative’ experiences.
One of the things I have found in assisting me in staying in a state of love/joy is understanding my breathing and body. Both are good starting points in keeping connected to your center. All breathing is attached to one’s emotions. Each emotion has a pattern. Anger is usually rapid. Anxiousness has a short inhale with an exhale sigh…peace is deep breathing…All one has to do is change the pattern and one changes or softens the state. For body awareness think about where you hold your stress. Think about the function of that part of the body. For instance lower back problems usually mean you have issues dealing with security. Neck flexibility issues. Legs problems going forward. In working on these one begins to connect with the center. Just a few thoughts, bev

That’s the problem I’ve found with trawling through many of the ‘conspiracy’ sites, I usually come away feeling very angry with life. I guess they don’t mean to do that as they are trying to create greater awareness of what is really going on. Usually, the only recourse is to walk the dog in the woods for an hour and forget about all the overwhelming negativity, trying to reconnect to that still small place within. It’s where one decides to focus the ‘attention’, what’s your basic intent – is it a genuine search for honesty in how you live or is it all still tied up in the dog eat dog energy struggle. sometimes it’s so easy to fall into self deception. It’s like Bronte says in the article – the choice is always ours.

I hate to be the one to always be popping the balloons. Balloons are so pretty. But this world is full of illusions, and until we pop each one, we never will be free of the deceptions. So here I go, attempting to pop another one. And I know these pops aren’t easy to take.

Anthony, I don’t agree we can simply trust our hearts to know what’s true. Our hearts, like our minds, are manipulatable and manipulated. Many gurus – Amma, the hugging saint, is one shining example – are classic examples of manipulation through the illusion of love. Real love is not an illusion, of course, but the love of such entities is.

I’m afraid I view your “Jesus” in the same category. He said he came to fulfill the law of Jehovah, and Jehovah was a genocidal, insecure, worship-hungering maniac.

Read “The Bible Fraud” and “Rex Deus” for eye-openers on Jesus. For years I worshipped Lord Krishna, and felt a real bond of love with that entity (and for years before that, with Jesus). But just because you feel love doesn’t mean the object of your affections is who they present to be, or that they are worthy. Emotion can be manipulated, and any fourth dimensional entity can pose to you as Sweet Jesus.

So what we can use as a guide to what’s true and what’s deception? Is the heart totally unreliable? Not at all. The heart, at its deepest soul level, remembers the truth of how the universe came to be, who we are, who God is, all of it. Deeply felt instincts about these things usually have some truth to them and sometimes are right on the mark. It’s right to listen to the deepest aspects of ourselves, because there resides our primordial knowledge.

The difficulty sometimes comes in not knowing for sure if our feelings are truly remembered knowledge or manipulated emotions. I think with time (i.e., the more illusion bubbles we pop), we get better at distinguishing the difference. I go with what I take to be my cosmic memory level, but keep an open mind to the fact that I may later learn what I thought was primordial truth was just another distortion. It’s kind of like learning to dance. You have to stay light on your feet and ready to move. If you get rooted into any one position, you’ll get banged into and knocked about.

Other measures of what’s true are also available to us, besides those primordial feelings. One such measure is reasoning – connecting the dots. Another measure is research, finding out facts. Another is asking the Infinite Source to guide us to the truth of any matter, then waiting to see what insights come into our minds. There may be other measures as well, but these come to mind at the moment.

    Hi Bronte,

I don’t mind having my balloons popped. In fact, I welcome it!

I agree that heart alone is not enough, that’s why I try to learn more as I move along. The heart is important though. Love is important. Intuition is important. Knowledge is important and logic is important. The truth is out there somewhere!

I recently met a man who is very scientific and approaches all mysteries with a Sherlock Holmes approach: Only ruling something out when he is absolutely sure that it is not the truth. This is great for those questioning 9/11 for example. Once you are sure that the official version is a lie, then something else must be true. The same goes with global warming and many other topics.

I’ve seen Amma a couple of times and the first time I was there, I thought how lovely. The most recent time I was there, however, I was aware how many well-meaning people were walking around with empty looks or fixed grins that just didn’t seem real. And her message and the delivery were getting very predictable. It was an interesting experience though, to see somebody clearly setting themself up as a Goddess in her own lifetime and to witness how well-intentioned people were willing to sacrifice their whole personality.

As for Jesus. Firstly, he’s not my Jesus. And secondly I’m under no illusions that his message has been tampered with. For example, I can’t be sure that he came to fulfill the law of Jehovah. Who was Jesus really? What did he really say? My gut feeling is that he was putting out a message that isn’t far at all from what you’re saying. The continued hatred for the person who was Jesus makes me feel that this was someone who really threatened the powers that be. I hope to find out more about him.

Each one of us takes out of the Bible, Carlos Cataneda, or whatever something that is personal to us. I always (mostly anyway) welcome any well-intentioned criticism of my opinions (that didn’t use to be the case). When I’m balanced I can even welcome nasty criticism, because there is often something there that I can learn from.

I think it’s important that we are modest and open enough to accept criticism, while being strong enough to hold on to our opinions if we feel that this is right for us at this moment in time. I might feel differently sometime in the future, but it has to feel right for me.

Thanks again for taking aim at my balloons!

There comes a time ( I hope ;-) ) that we as a species ,will be in rememberance of our true total self/spirit and know again the interstellar life from whence we came.
Gaia/Sophia is in the hands of the money owners right now,or so they think.
They’re making this world a prison for us through our minds ,cramming it full with distortions by any means possible, even on astral levels.
The money owners have power because people believe in them and in money ,thinking it has any value.
It’s an ‘I owe you’ at best, it supposed to stand for gold and even that stuff has only value in the mind.
What people need is to commune with one another, a place to live( not necessarily on one spot), heat and food, sharing knowledge and contact other people on other planets to share eachothers life experiences.
No money involved in all that, but we make it so; No beliefs involved in all that, but we make it so; No religion involved in that, but we make it so; No mediators involved in that ,but we make it so; No destroying the environment involved in all that ,but we make it so; No politics involved in all that ,but we make it so……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Freedom is in feeling, and anyone knows what feels truly right in their feelings, and it can be very subtle.

Bronte, By the same token couldn’t it be one of those interdimensional entities claiming to be Jesus when saying he came to fulfill the law of Jehovah? But even given that, in the abiding interest of knowing the truth of what God is and who we are, when it comes to considering the various personages like Jesus, Krishna, Buddha, et al, there’s just been too much water under the bridge at this ‘point in time’ to lend much credence to any of it any more. Those of us who are endeavoring to maintain firm footholds on the paths of spiritual warriors know this by now in our heart of hearts. The way I see it, that which ensures keeping the ‘heart-dupers’ at bay calls for a definition of our warrior nature to include that which requires having a ‘fierce countenance’ of bearing that brooks nothing that would interfere with what the heart already knows. A bearing that never suffers fools gladly and is resolute in its castigation towards them, but is always there for the gentle spirits it encounters with gentleness reciprocated. If this is to be construed as an apt description of the one we’ve called ‘Jesus Christ’ then so be it. Who we would be really describing is ourselves.

Jesus is quoted in Matthew 5:17 as saying: “Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets: I am not come to destroy them, but to fulfill them.” It was not “some interdimensional deity posing as Jesus” who said this, but the biblical figure himself.

Do you really think gentleness is an infallible measuring stick for the nature and quality of spiritual teachers? Why not love, as an earlier poster suggested?

Any deceiver, including the human kind, is capable of exhibiting gentleness and lovingness when it suits them, when that is the trick to lure in the unexpecting. Many robbed rich widows and lied-to spouses can attest to that. And no, Astral Kid, we don’t all know what is truly right just by our feelings. Many people’s trust has been misplaced, in human affairs as well as in spiritual, and trust is typically placed based on deep feeling. I myself have made a number of misallocated trusts in my life, and the entities I trusted were ALWAYS gentle, and loving. I ALWAYS thought I was listening to my inner self and getting the right message about the entity in question. And sometimes I was dead wrong.

There is a PR guy from Verichip, the company making the microchip, who’s appearing a lot on TV right now touting this invention, and he is the nicest-looking, gentlest, most open-faced guy you could imagine. That’s to serve a purpose. Deceivers are not stupid. If they show up as fools or obvious tyrants, what are the odds of their getting a following?

It is self-deceiving to determine truth based on the tenuous standards people are clinging to in this discussion. This is your achilles heel, and be assured it will be used and is being used by the controllers against you.

Read history, Anthony. Read the facts. Read the books about Jesus I listed in the earlier comment. Read what David Icke has written, and Robert Morning Sky, their research about Jesus. Then tell me again what a nice guy he is.

Bronte, We’re talking about the freakin’ bible here. That fallacious tome in every which way imaginable. Who’s to say that quote from the book of Matthew didn’t originate from some interdimensional deity? And I am mystified that you thought I was conveying gentleness as being an infallible measuring stick. Of course only love is infallible. My use of the words ‘gentle’ and ‘gentleness’ in their proper context pre-supposed a setting of love. And I assure you that I for one am not clinging to any tenuous standards in any attempts to determine truth. Speaking for myself, how exactly was I setting a standard? I truly enjoy partaking in these discussions and like Anthony I welcome constructive criticism. When it is warranted that is. But in this instance you haven’t jumped, you’ve FLOWN like Evel Knievel over Snake River Canyon to conclusions!

Sorry for jumping in (this debate is damn interesting), but I agree wholeheartedly with Brian on this one. Who’s to say anything the supposed gospel writers say is genuine. In one of his early books (I forget which) Icke states, with evience (heck, I cant prove this) that the gospels of Jesus were concocted by the Piso family (please correct me if I’m wrong on this). As to whether he physically existed as the Christian religion (Catholic at the time) portrayed, even that was a big issue of debate by theologians in the middle ages. There was even controversy over the genuineness of the authorship of the Pentateuch and the numerous retranslations and copying errors. To me, the results of the council of Nicea made a mockery of the whole issue. I’ll go with Anthony, follow your heart, but with a big dose of scepticism, in the positive sense of asking questions.

Bronte, Please allow me to offer a little friendly constructive criticism of my own. I think that you’re too inclined towards popping baloons and not reading between the lines to see the intent behind some of us posters. My feeling is that you have a tendency of being overprotective given the cunningly and sometimes unwittingly subtle ways of the many deceivers out there. And while I sincerely appreciate where you’re coming from in this regard you need to realize that from where I’m sittin’ in all these discussions I see a pretty astute bunch of big boys and girls here. I think you can give us more credit in our ability to smell a rat and spot a charlatan from miles away. Brian

  26. July 25, 2008 at 2:06 pm

I’m sticking with my position in this debate, gang. Brian, I think you misunderstood ME, and that led you to think I had misread YOU. So let me clarify.

You wrote that we should maintain “a bearing that never suffers fools gladly and is resolute in its castigation towards them, but is always there for the gentle spirits it encounters with gentleness reciprocated. If this is to be construed as an apt description of the one we’ve called ‘Jesus Christ’ then so be it.” To me, that means you’re saying if a spiritual figure comes across as gentle, we should reciprocate with gentleness and consider them a friend. Am I wrong in that interpretation? If so, correct me.

My remark about using love as a yardstick was meant to be derogatory, not to favor love as a yardstick. I was saying that it’s as dangerous to use gentleness as a yardstick as it is to use love as a yardstick, because any spiritual figure can act loving or gentle. Beings in the unseen, in particular, have astute powers of manipulating people with all sorts of gentle and loving vibes toward those they are communicating with.

I have a friend who goes into absolute euphoria when he’s around Amma, and she’s a charlatan, one of the worst. (I have an article in the works about this teacher.) But my friend feels nothing but love and gentleness from her. He is CONVINCED she’s good, although she has a trail of iniquity following her a mile long. Same with Sai Baba, the boy-disciple molester. I have a second friend who’s CONVINCED he’s God incarnate, so gentle, the embodiment of divine love.

Come on, people! Love and gentleness are part of the game! When we start thinking “we’re big boys and girls here and can smell a rat and a charlatan from miles away,” we’re giving ourselves way too much credit. Every time we learn to see through one scam, another is designed to fool us, like the battle between wonder drugs and bacteria. The deceptions, like the bacteria, just keep mutating.

When I read Anthony talking about his deep personal relationship with Jesus, I’m not going to sit by and nod, so everyone feels cozy with each other in this discussion. Truth is more important than that. Some of the things I’m reading here smell badly, and I’m going to call it like I smell it.

The minute we think we’ve got it all figured out and are immune to deceptions, we’re setting ourselves up big-time. It’s like soldiers who’ve won a couple of battles frolicking and drinking and congratulating themselves, while the still undefeated enemy is creeping towards them for another strike in the night.

Until we have all regained our powers as infinite, unlimited beings, we aren’t out of the woods yet. We’re still operating under illusions, though far fewer than before. The challenge is to identify the assumptions that still enslave us.

I mean no personal criticism of any of the posters, all of whom I appreciate. I love reading what each of you contribute. Everyone commenting here is intelligent and insightful, having seen through a lot of the shams that still ensnare most people. But we haven’t seen through them all.

When I read people writing stuff that to me smacks of buying into another deception, I’m going to point it out. I’m not here to stroke anyone or to be stroked, but to reach for the truth. And I feel we’ve veered off the track of that lately.

Love is indeed the drug. Hmm, more to consider. Whatever the rights and wrongs of this, it’s getting the synapses sparking. Bottom line then, anything that demands worship needs our energy (gee, I love stating the obvious). Time to wander the woods again.

yes bronte , a lot of people can’t distinguish their inner feelings from their thoughts, they ‘think’ they feel ,that’s the problem.
And it’s also true there are a lot of ‘spiritual’ people hiding behind niceties, love and beautiful words, most of them just have to be disciplined again, and some of these people just has to be slain, I mean agressively cut out of the game, forever annihilated, along with all the rest of the evil devils who like to control and torture people and the rest of life.
That would really clean up earth and the universe, first step is to see the game as it is,second not to play it anymore and make our own, from here on we move along…………….

Bronte, I wasn’t portraying the ‘gentle one’ as being a spiritual teacher, per se. My portrayal was simply one of a genuine human being in whatever capacity that portrayal finds itself. The allusion to Jesus is to a ‘Jesus’ AS a genuine human being. Not to a Jesus in any spiritual leader/historical figure context. I couldn’t agree with you more when it comes to the danger inherent in having a deep personal relationship with Jesus IF by ‘Jesus’ your not seeing that as a metaphor of the true infinite. On the one hand you say we’re giving ourselves way too much credit, yet on the other hand we are also learning to see through scams. If we’re seeing through one scam couldn’t that imply that we don’t necessarily have it all figured out? That we haven’t become immune to deceptions because we’ve established some precedents for developing a discerning eye? That fierceness I characterized myself as having reflects that immunity. But the ‘fierce countenance’ must have an unwavering consistency in order to match the tenacity of the adversary. Spiritual right makes spiritual might.

I just wanted to make a correction in one of the sentences in the above post. How it should read is ‘That we haven’t become oblivious( not immune) to deceptions because we’ve established some precedents for developing a discerning eye? O.K. with that out of the way it occured to me that there is much to be learned from wild animals and from animals in general. If you can look past the detestable ‘survival of the fittest’, dog eat dog, kill or be killed curse that has been imposed upon this realm you’ll see what is in essence complete integrity in the impeccable behavior of certain animals in the wild. Take a mother lion for example. On the hunt and in protecting her cubs they don’t come any fiercer. They’ve been known to kill male lions who have heinous designs on those cubs. And yet as a mother nurturing her young she’s as gentle and loving as a being could possibly be. I own pitbulls and I can tell you there’s no breed of dog on the planet that can match this one for the sheer level of its ferocity. And yet, when you raise them with plenty of love they’re also unrivaled in their devotion and friendly affection. We are those lions and pitbulls that have the innate ability to recognize threats to our freedom by acting with that impeccable integrity. Wise ones from native-american cultures knew the spiritual lessons that animals teach us. It behooves us all to learn from them.

We’ve got a woman staying downstairs who is dying. All we can do is look after her as best we can until she dies. I did my Western thing and took her to the clinic, but she has too much internal damage for the doctor to help, so I’ve left it to my Cambodian Buddhist family and friends to take care of her as best they can. They have had Buddhist priests over to pray for her and the other day the local Cambodian Christians came over and sang lovely hymns that cheered her up a little.

Most of my family cannot read or write, much less surf the internet. I’m currently writing a website about the brain and spirituality. It’s an absolute mystery to my wife, who didn’t believe me when I told her monkeys made babies the same way we do. In fact, she didn’t believe me when I told her how humans make babies.

Does all of the above mean that my Cambodian friends and family are hopelessly lost in the Matrix (Hindu maya – shock, horror!) or whatever you want to call it? They have a lot of problems, that’s for sure, but they are no less “spiritual” or “awakened” than you or I. In many ways they seem far wiser than us.

I read all the posts above, rather than skimmed them as I usually do and I have to say that the whole debate seems rather childish to me right now. I’m with Anthony on the Jesus debate. Certain phrases in the New Testament seem to shine for me while most of it is obviously doctored. Christ! You don’t have to dig very far to know that! It’s pretty common knowledge that it’s been fiddled with. If somebody proved beyond a doubt that Jesus never lived or that he was the son of a Reptilian warlord, those passages that shine for me would still shine.

Yes, a lot of people bond with people like Amma and Sai Baba or institutions like Christianity or “democracy”, just like ducklings will bond with a human “mother” whose ultimate aim is to harvest their eggs and/or kill them for meat. I don’t see many of those people visiting this blog. I think you’re “preaching to the converted,” Bronte. Most of us have found a hole in the chicken wire and are exploring the big wide world beyond our fences. Yes, we face dangers, but that’s how we grow and learn

    Hi everybody,

I just wanted to say that my interpretation of the Carlos Castaneda quotes and indeed his books was more in line with Anthony’s and reading them has made me feel very happy and positive. I certainly did not get the impression when reading the books that Castanedea motives and techniques were selfish or about ‘me me me’.

Certainly the techniques of the shaman were about garnering power and might seem a bit ‘hardcore’ to us but I think we have to remember that back then the frequencies the planet was bathing in were far more dense and of a lower resonance than they are today. Today we are lucky because we are moving closer to the divine, back to where we came from and breaking through the illusion is much much easier then it was then.

So when I look at the following quotes I have to agree because this reality is all just an illusion and when it comes down to it absolutely nothing matters, nothing at all. That’s what’s so funny about it, and that’s why the warrior laughs at his own folly! So if this predicted doom were to happen would it matter, in a larger context? No! Absolutely not at all. But does this mean I don’t want to help a potentially miserable time for the human race, even spend my life trying to help? Certainly not! I like being happy, I like laughing and I like this fantastic planet and I want everybody else to be able to have the same wonderful experience of it if they want to.

The fact that we absolutely don’t have to help or be good to each other but we still choose to is the most comforting thing of all to me. It suggests that it is in our nature and at heart we are beings that come from the heart, from pure love.

This is a reality of duality, we came here to experience it as it exists now and I think its important to remember this and not get too trapped in the illusion. The single best thing of all in this fascinating reality is that you have CHOICE! So do what you will, make your choice and do it to the best of your ability.

Personally I think the huge challenge we are facing now is a blessing in (a very good) disguise. I will give my life to help prevent any suffering and I will walk the long road to mastery for as long as it takes to better help my fellow sentient beings but I am definitely going to be smiling and laughing all the way, because for me there is no better way.

As this is a ‘Matrix’ themed blog I feel this is a good place to mention the very end of the Matrix trilogy. Neo has given everything to help others, even potentially his own life and the agents simply cannot comprehend why. Their understanding of human nature is clearly limited and this is their eventual downfall. When agent Smith asks, furious and with scorn on his face ‘Why? why are you doing this?’ Neo looks at him and simply says ‘Because I choose to’. Ha ha! Now that is funny!

””And as he wages his battle, knowing that his intent is impeccable, a warrior laughs and laughs.””

(Thank you for reading my gibberish. I am not a writer as I’m sure you can tell and I would not be so big headed to say ‘I am right’ but these are my thoughts and I wanted to share them with you. I have recently been spending too much time dwelling on all the negativity in the world and if I don’t stop my spirit is going to be crushed like an egg and I will be of no help at all. So from now on I’m going to be laughing all the way and helping the white hand of healing light dissipate the dark hand that guides the negative entities of this world. That way seems much more fun and I’m excited about the coming adventure. Keep on laughing Anthony! :D )

Don’t forget that we all all beacons emitting powerful energy and whether that energy is positive or negative is entirely down to you.

    From Sam.
